All About Apples!

This past week was apple week.  For  science we made apple Rice Krispies treats. To make these, the teachers measured out all the ingredients. As they added the ingredients, the Little Wildcats made predictions of what was going to happen. First, we melted the marshmallows, and they guessed that the marshmallows where going to melt and become sticky. We then put butter on their hands, as we added  Rice Krispies and Jello mix, which turned the Rice Krispies red. They then got to mold their marshmallows into the shape of an apple. They added a tootsie roll as the stem and a green gummy candy as a leaf. Mrs. Passmore made the suggestion of asking mom to put a marshmallow in the microwave so they can see the experiment up close.
